In shul sits a chossid so old,
His eyes deep and knowing and wise,
I tell him how much I’m yearning to see,
My Rebbe who’s hidden from me.
He smiles and says, “Long ago,
In prison, I sat all alone,
To write to the Rebbe, my heart was yearning.
Surrounded by thick walls of stone”.
“So I saw in my mind, a paper and pen.
And imagined each word of the letter I’d send.
I pictured the Rebbe receiving my note.
My heart felt the Rebbe knew just what I wrote”.
CHORUS
“And as I closed my eyes, came a vision so clear.
A feeling the Rebbe is with me right here.
Though Golus is long, Our yearning’s so strong,
A chossid and Rebbe’s unbreakable bond”
Years Later,” said he,
“When at last I was free,
The Rebbe’s answer was given to me . . . “
That’s how it must be, At last I can see,
The Rebbe is always with me.”
CHORUS
That’s how it must be….
